The 41st edition of the GM Financial Parade of Lights will take place on Sunday, November 24, 2024 in Downtown Fort Worth.

Parking and Access

There’s plenty of parking throughout downtown and easily accessible from various points. Some of our downtown garages offer free parking, there are many, low-cost parking lots available throughout Downtown.

  • TRAFFIC NOTE  (IMPORTANT): Streets Downtown will begin to close at 6:00 AM to prepare the route for staging. Please plan accordingly.

Public Transit

TEXRail

TEXRail is the best option for parade visitors coming to the Downtown area. Park-and-ride opportunities are available at both the North Side Station (2829 Decatur Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76106) and the Fort Worth T&P Station (221 W. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76102). Park free at most TEXRail stations and ride downtown and avoid parking concerns. The North Side Station also features an overflow lot at 3001 Decatur Avenue. Frequency on Sunday will be increased to a train every 30 minutes help move riders out of Downtown more quickly. ALERT! THE TRE WILL NOT BE RUNNING ON SUNDAY!

The Trinity Railway Express (“TRE”) will not operate at all on Sunday.

Trinity Metro Fixed Route Buses

Trinity Metro advised us that bus service will not be an optimal alternative due to traffic congestion leading up to the start time of the Parade. Additionally, many routes stop running early on Sunday with the exception of routes 1, 2, 46 and 89. These routes will operate on 15-minute frequency and run until around 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Downtown Traffic

Attendees are encouraged to arrive in downtown early to avoid traffic congestion. Weatherford Street from Henderson to Throckmorton Streets will close at 6:00 AM for staging (among some others) and highway ramps, including Spur 280 from Interstate 35, will begin to closing as early as 4:00 p.m. Belknap Street, Henderson Street and North Main Streets will remain open to traffic during the parade. Determine where you would like to sit along the route, and then approach from that direction into Downtown.  Try to stay on the side of your viewing area and do not attempt to drive all the way through Downtown to get to your seats.  Come in FROM that side.  There are plenty of streets accessing Downtown, and you do NOT have to come in Spur 280.  Use the attached map to to help you plan your arrival into Downtown, and turn off your GPS unit.

There are great parking areas in each of the quadrants of the Downtown Parade Zone. DO NOT PARK AT BAGGED METERS. More parking information available from www.fortworthparking.com.
